Hello and thanks for visiting my website. My name is Lizzy Pittock and I am a HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist and EMDR therapist providing therapy to adults and young people in Glasgow and online.

What issues can therapy help with?
Therapy can be of help for people who are experiencing difficulties that affect them in day to day life to give them a space to explore it, gain insight about it, and help them decide how to work through it.
People come to therapy for support for all sorts of reasons. Maybe you feel different and like an outsider. You may feel like your mind never shuts off, replays scenarios, and constantly ruminates on things. You may find yourself always worrying about what's going to happen, or feel haunted by your past. You may feel like you can't fully relax or need to constantly be on the go. You may feel permanently exhausted, like you are not quite with it, or are existing in slow motion. You may feel like you are always doing what others want and find it hard to voice your opinions and thoughts. You may be trying really hard to keep it together, but feel like you are crumbling on the inside. You maybe feel like you hold yourself to high standards, or never feel good enough, Maybe you feel like you can never get things right, or find yourself being really critical of yourself. Maybe past experiences have suddenly started to make it difficult to manage daily life. You may feel disconnected, lost, or held back. You may be finding relationships difficult, experienced loss, or having difficulty with a life transition like retirement or menopause.

Therapy takes place in a private space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with empathy and without judgement. In the therapy space, thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence. Talking about our issues can be challenging at times. Art therapy and EMDR offer creative and embodied ways to explore issues to help people feel less stuck.
Therapy can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing; help you understand why you think, behave and react to them the way you do; and see how you can start to make choices that aling with how you wish to be moving forward.
Therapy is a dedicated and protected time in your schedule to think about your emotional needs. It is a confidential place to work through whatever you may wish you explore.
Many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to manage. Therapy can help build a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems and empower people to move towards managing or resolving their difficulties. Therapy begins by building coping strategies to empower people to make the choices they would like.
Lizzy Pittock is an inclusive practitioner and welcomes people of all ages from all communities, ethnicities, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities.
