I’m Lizzy and I am a HCPC registered art psychotherapist who has worked with individuals, groups, and families for over eight years. I trained at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and completed EMDR training in 2023 with Richman Training.
People of all races, genders, sexual orientations, and relationship styles are welcome in therapy with me. I am queer, non-binary, spoonie, neurodivergent, and lived experience therapist who is experienced in working with different relationship styles and members of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as their partners and families. I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds with a diverse range of difficulties in a non-pathologising way.
I believe therapy should be relational, collaborative and transformational. I understand that therapy is a vulnerable experience and so I work to build trust with each client as the foundation for effective therapy.
I bring curiosity and empathy to understand how your patterns make sense based on how you adapted to your past experiences. I aim to work with people towards better well-being and feeling empowered to make the changes they need through understanding issues, working through underlying difficulties, and processing past experiences.
As a fully-qualified art psychotherapist and EMDR therapist, I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and, am a member of the both the British Association of Art Therapists and the EMDR UK Association. To ensure that my practice is safe and effective, I adhere to their code and guidance of conduct and code of ethics, and attend regular supervision.
Art Therapy is a legally protected title and so to practice as an art therapist in the UK, the therapist requires a certain level of training, experience, and to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). My HCPC registration Number is AS15955.
Please note the information on this website is for informational purposes and is not intended to replace medical or psychological assessment and treatment.
I do not offer a crisis support or emergency service. In such situations, if you are living in the UK, I would recommend that you contact your GP during clinic hours; attend your local Accident & Emergency department; or dial 999 in an emergency.
